Football Players- What's with 'em?

What is it with football players? Why do so many of them do unlawful things? yes, there are some out there who are totally awesome, take Brett Favre and Peyton Manning for example. These are two great guys who are just in it for the fun of the sport. However, so many of our football players today are doing horrible things. Michael Vick was sent to jail for illegally fighting dogs. And Ben Worthlessburger (i know I spelled that wrong) who was suspected of raping a hotel worker. Why should we give them shorter jail time? what makes them so special that they can override the law? Any comments?

Still hating Mondays...

  1. Good observation, Mouse. Take it a step further, why do we call these people are heros? Why do we make gaint posters of them and put them on our walls? Why do we pay them millions a year to misbehave? I agree, it seems so wrong.

  2. I COMPLETELY agree. Brett Farve, Peyton (and Eli) Manning, Kurt Warner, you can name all of these great football players (not just QB's), but their image is being tarnished by people such as Vick and Roethlisberger. Why do we pay these CRIMINALS more money than they know what to deal with?

I am a Peyton Manning fan, but that's not permanent if he does something stupid. I have to admit..... when he was picked up by the Falcons, I was curious about how good Vick good be. I'm sad to say I was also a.... I wouldn't say a fan, but I didn't hate him either. If you know me, I know wish death upon him, in the same miserable way he killed those dogs. Roethlisberger think's he;s all high and mighty, crashing his mototrcycle without a helmet, and allegedly raping that casino worker. Just like Vick "didn't kill those dogs" as he claimed then, Ben "didn't rape that girl". We'll see how long that one holds up. Who makes these guys so special anyway?
